In this paragraph, a few examples of cosmetic formulations are detailed to illustrate the different functions of emollients. The oil phase of the night cream shown in table 12, is rich in emollients (nearly 30% by weight). This high level of emolliency is typical of this type of highly occlusive formulation, providing long-lasting skin hydration.
