3. Determining the dissolution time of solid particles
The aim is to establish a mathematical model for determining the dissolution time of solid particles held in suspension in a stirred tank operating in batch mode.
A few assumptions are necessary:
the thermal effects of dissolution are negligible;
the volume of the solution does not vary appreciably during the dissolving time;
the transfer resistance is located in the liquid film surrounding the solid particle;
the material transfer coefficient k
