INTRODUCTION
This article is devoted to the study of the alkylation of the only aromatic derivatives of industrial importance:
Alkylation of aromatic amines (aniline, naphthylamines, etc.) involves only small volumes and is mentioned here only as a reminder.
Depending on the reaction conditions, the alkyl radical can be introduced on a carbon atom located either in the aromatic ring, or in a side chain, if present.
We will not study the production of N-substituted amines or substituted phenols (alkyl-phenyl ethers).
