Reforming; reforming
Steam reforming of natural gas or naphtha is a chemical reaction that produces the dihydrogen used in ammonia synthesis.
Gasification: gasification
Gasification is a thermochemical process that converts carbonaceous or organic materials (e.g. coal, biomass) into a synthesis gas composed mainly of carbon monoxide and dihydrogen.
Partial oxidation: partial oxidation
This is a substoichiometric chemical reaction of heavy fuels in the presence of oxygen, producing synthesis gases (e.g. dihydrogen) used in ammonia synthesis.
