5. Temperature control. Heat balances

In the preceding paragraphs, we have focused mainly on material balances in reactors. We recognized the need for additional information on the physical state of the reaction mixture (temperature, pressure, dilution state). The aim of this paragraph is to clarify the influence of physical conditions, mainly temperature, on reactor operation, and to establish the heat balances that regulate the temperature profile, in conjunction with exchanges with the outside.
