3.1 Demonstration of activated carbon filter ignition
Laboratory tests have experimentally demonstrated the ignition of a filter lined with activated carbon grains adsorbing acetone at very high concentrations, between 100 and 150 g/m 3 . Figure 6 shows these tests.
For the 100 g/m 3 concentration, a classic breakthrough curve is observed, with a breakthrough time of around 35 min and a temperature wave peaking at around 80°C.
