The phenomenon of sublimation occurs when the imposed pressure is lower than the pressure of the triple point of the pure body (see figure 6, Table
). In this case, the phase transition leads to the gas phase. However, under certain experimental conditions, the formation of liquid can sometimes be observed during isobaric heating of the solid. This liquid is said to be metastable, as it corresponds to a phase that is thermodynamically less stable than steam.
