13. Examples of historical objects
The Jerusalem cross consists of a large Greek cross, i.e. a cross with four arms at 90°, of equal width and length, each end replaced by a cross, also Greek, with arms of equal width and shorter length.
The Jerusalem cross is a symbol of the four Gospels, or the four directions in which Christ's word spread from Jerusalem. It was carried by the kings of Jerusalem (1099-1291).
