In particle toxicology and/or eco-toxicology research, effects are said to be correlated with the amount of product to which the animal or human is exposed. The greater the mass absorbed, the greater the effect. In the case of nanoparticles, it has been clearly demonstrated that the effects measured are not related to the mass of the product, thus overturning the traditional interpretation of toxicity measurements.
