Chemical kinetics is the study of gaseous, liquid or solid chemical systems whose composition changes with time. A homogeneous system comprises just one phase, while a system evolving at the interface of two phases is said to be heterogeneous. The kinetics discussed here mainly concern the homogeneous gas phase. Figure
