3. Methods with distortions
The following methods can only be applied to signals that allow this. These include, of course, those intended for our senses (acoustic signals, image signals). Others include radar, sonar and infrared signals... We'll take image signals as an example of applications.
Methods with distortion are of interest to all applications that manipulate signals primarily intended for our senses, and among these we're particularly interested in images, which are ubiquitous in multimedia.
