4. Time slicing on the radio interface
On the NR interface, 14 successive OFDM symbols form a slot. The slot therefore corresponds to 1 ms in numerology 0 and 1/2

). To have a reference duration independent of numerology, the notion of sub-frame is defined, which lasts 1 ms. A sub-frame contains 1 slot in numerology 0, 2 in numerology 1, and so on. A frame contains 10 sub-frames and therefore always lasts 10 ms. The frame structure is used to define repetition patterns for certain signals and control messages.
