2. General LTE principles
In this chapter, we present an essential aspect of LTE, namely packet access.
To keep things educational, we've disregarded a large number of mechanisms and deliberately simplified the process.
The radio interface is based on multiple transmission on orthogonal OFDM carriers. On the uplink, this is a variant known as SC-FDMA (Single Carrier – Frequency Division Multiplex Access).

Principle
The principle of OFDM is to transmit on a very large number of subcarriers in parallel. Thanks to an ingenious use of the Fourier transform and the recopying of part of the transmitted symbols (cyclic prefix principle), it is possible to simply build a transmitter and a receiver using a single frequency transposition step
