4. Summary and verification
The synthesis covers three main aspects:
generation of the hardware architecture, including inference of the various components identified as a result of software/hardware partitioning (e.g. microprocessors, memories or FPGAs) and their assembly;
generation of the software part, which consists of various functions to be implemented ;
inferring appropriate interfaces between hardware and software.
In practice, hardware components are obtained through definitions in appropriate description languages such as VHDL or Verilog, supporting architectural synthesis tools. These components are then assembled using interconnection schematic tools....
