Système autonome; autonomous system

A system capable of making decisions on its own and executing them without explicit human intervention.

GNSS (global navigation satellite system)

Satellite positioning system comprising a space segment (satellite constellation), a ground segment (network of control and command bases) and a user segment (receivers responsible for determining their positions and current time). This generic term includes the European (Galileo), American (GPS), Russian (GLONASS) and Chinese (Beidou) systems.

Matching with a map; map-matching

The process of associating a position measurement with a point (or area) on the road network described in the digital navigation map. It is used to reduce location uncertainty and to calculate deviations from georeferenced features.
