1. Analysis of mechanical behavior
The starting point for analyzing mechanical behavior is modeling, which consists in stating hypotheses about geometry, material behavior and loading. These hypotheses can then be translated into mathematical equations that need to be solved. Two approaches can be distinguished: detailed and simplified. Detailed approaches require the use of advanced numerical resolution schemes such as finite element (FE) modeling, while simplified approaches require only elementary numerical resolution schemes.
