17.1 Γ as a function of T 2 (rba, rso)
Starting from a time series of corrected LRAN signals sL (r) r2 and normalized, the mean value of kp for a particle layer is obtained by plotting the integrated signals Γ against the transmission T2 (rba, rso).
To calculate the integrated signals Γ, βp (r) is replaced by βp (r) = kp γp (r) in equation (8), then integrated over the layer thickness from the base rba to the top rso :
