2. RFID presentation
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a technology derived from IFF (Identification Friend Foe) designed during the Second World War by the Royal Air Force to distinguish its aircraft from those of the enemy on radar screens when returning from raids on the continent.
Today, RFID is mainly used in logistics, production and maintenance. The main sectors concerned are defense (with the gigantic deployments of the US Department of Defense), retail (with Walmart in the USA and Metro in Europe), airlines and airports. In France, it's worth noting that the mass retail sector is lagging behind, having so far only carried out technical pilots.
