5. Discretization of the calculation domain

This very important stage in obtaining satisfactory results is often the longest and most daunting.

Since computers have limited speed and memory capacity, it is not possible to solve discretized equations at all points in space. For this reason, a computational domain is chosen around the body under study. It must be large enough, but not so large that the body's presence is no longer felt at its boundaries.
