The perturbed motion is analyzed as a progressive deviation from the Keplerian trajectory. This section develops the evolution equations of the orbital parameters and the integration methods.
Celestial mechanics flourished in the 19th century. The aim was to explain and predict as precisely as possible the movements of the stars in the solar system. Limited computing capacity led to mathematical developments that were subsequently used in other branches of physics.
