1.1 Principle of a global approach

The industrial manufacturing process for a composite structure involves a number of stages which, while following a logical sequence, interact with each other from the outset of the project and may lead to a number of iterations:

  • drawing up functional specifications ;

  • design, dimensioning, calculations ;

  • inspection, testing, acceptance;

  • industrial analysis.

The rail structure designed in this way must, of course, be more efficient, but also more cost-effective. Economic constraints are taken into account from the outset of the project, and at every stage of the construction...
