Automaticity
Ability of a braking system, in the event of the train breaking into two or more parts, to bring each of the parts of the train thus formed to a halt and then keep them there (for a specified time) without the intervention of the driver.
Brake pipe (CG); brake pipe
In the case of a pneumatic brake, the pressurized pneumatic line enables braking instructions issued by the driver to be transmitted along the train.
Main reservoir pipe (CP)
Pneumatic line supplying compressed air to all train equipment using this energy (in particular the braking system).
