Designing a station as a multimodal interchange means organizing pedestrian space at the crossroads of transport infrastructures.

The study of a station project is therefore divided into seven phases, sometimes sequential, often iterative, but always interdependent:

  • the spatial layout of infrastructure for the various modes of transport;

  • organization of pedestrian flows;

  • the design of spaces for travellers and visitors ;

  • installation of services, shops and operating premises, and related programs;

  • structural approach and environmental comfort ;

  • the symbolic dimension;

  • the station area.
