1.1 The H norm∞

Any linear, invariant system can be modeled by a transfer function or transmittance H (p ). If the system has q inputs and r outputs, H (p ) is an r × q matrix. In the case where the system is stable, we define its norm H _∞ by : $\begin{matrix} {‖ H (p) ‖}_{\infty} : = sup_{ω \in R} \sqrt{\bar{λ} (H (j ω) H {(- j ω)}^{T})} \end{matrix}$
