5. Conclusion
Robots are certainly destined to play an increasingly important role in society, either to perform functions that humans can no longer or no longer wish to perform, or to perform new functions. As with all technological developments, robots can arouse fears and fantasies, all the more so when they imitate the characteristics – appearance, behavior and reasoning – of living beings. However, a robot remains an object, imagined and programmed by man, and it's up to man to debate questions relating to what this object should be, how it should be used, and its impact on the environment in which it evolves – particularly on its operator or user, who we mustn't forget are not machines.
