3. SNR of a pixel

3.1 Signal-to-noise ratio per pixel

We can now estimate the signal-to-noise ratio of each pixel, $〈 SNR 〉$ . By definition, this is the ratio between the average signal per pixel and the standard deviation of this signal (the effective noise amplitude):
