3.1 Nucleic acid imaging
High-resolution imaging is required to observe and study the conformation or structural changes of nucleic acids in isolation or in interaction with partners. In the case of double-stranded DNA, the persistence length in salt concentrations close to those found in physiological media is of the order of 50 nm, enabling this molecule to be particularly extended on the surface (figure 5 ) and therefore to have a well-defined contour.
