Building sites are one of man's oldest activities, aimed at satisfying one of his most basic needs: shelter. The addition of numerous functionalities to this need has made building sites complex.

Building site also too often means "messy place". Good organization on building sites will make this meaning obsolete.

The tallest man-made building to date is the Burj Dubai Tower, 820 m high:

  • 3,000 workers ;

  • 330,000 m3 of concrete ;

  • 39,000 t of steel ;

  • 142,000 m2 of glass ;

  • one level every 3 days;

  • 4 and a half years in the making;

  • climbing formwork for the core ;

  • cooled delayed pumped concrete ;

  • 3 structure-mounted tower cranes;
