4. Oil-fired and condensing boilers
Oil-fired condensation (figure 19 ) is less attractive, as its latent heat recovery capacity is lower, at around 6%.
On the other hand, the recovered condensates are acidic (with a pH of 2 to 3) and must therefore be treated before discharge.
What's more, the boiler's condensing heat exchanger has to be made of stainless steel, which increases the financial cost of this generator.
