INTRODUCTION
Industrial floors must be waterproof (water and airtight), slip-resistant, antistatic (dustproof) or easy to clean.
The most common case of industrial paving corresponds to :
a concrete slab correctly dimensioned for mechanical loads (static or dynamic);
a wear layer corresponding to a surface reinforcement to resist mechanical stress;
a protective layer against climatic or chemical aggression.
A basic distinction must be made between industrial paving :
founded on the ground (using piles, for example), which means that they can be considered as shallow or deep foundations, depending on the depth of the supporting layer;
forming part of industrial structures (heavy-duty floors) with floor coverings applied directly to a concrete structure or via an add-on structure.
