3. The different technologies
Current solar thermal technologies lead us to consider two development and application paths:
a medium- and high-temperature (100-300°C and above) process, based in particular on the use of thermodynamic cycles, the conversion of thermal energy into mechanical or electrical energy, and the use of concentrating collectors;
a low-temperature sector (30-100°C) based on the use of flat-plate solar collectors with or without cover and evacuated tubes, for domestic hot water and industrial hot water production, as well as space heating, air conditioning and cooling applications
There are different types of solar water heaters on the market, adapted to the needs of each household.
