4. Residential ventilation
Ventilation can be natural or controlled mechanical (CMV), with single or double flow. It ensures optimum air renewal by extracting stale air from homes. For air-conditioned premises, CMV renews the air by controlling the quantity of air renewed. Coupled with a Canadian well or geothermal well, it provides natural cooling for the home.
4.1 Natural ventilation
Natural ventilation involves creating air currents in the home using air intake grilles and one or more ducts (figure 6 ).
