2. Adding passive reinforcement
The reinforcement of concrete structures can involve, on the one hand, reinforced concrete reinforcement (in steel or composite materials) which is integrated into the concrete of the structure (internal passive reinforcement) and, on the other hand, passive reinforcement (metal sheets or flat sheets and fabrics in composite materials) bonded to the surface of the concrete (external passive reinforcement).
2.1 Adding reinforced concrete
Once the existing concrete has been transplanted (and any damaged concrete removed), passive steels are laid out and bonded to the structure using shotcrete or cast-in-place concrete (or mortar).
