1. Absolute humidity
Air is a mixture of gases containing, in particular, water vapor in suspension.
Absolute humidity" is defined as the quantity of water vapour contained in the air. It is expressed in g/m 3 . The letter "W" is used to designate absolute humidity.
At a given temperature, 1 m 3 of air can only contain a limited amount of water vapor. This limit is called the "saturation limit", and, is noted W s . It increases very rapidly with temperature under normal atmospheric pressure conditions (1,013.2 hPa or 760 mmHg at sea level at 15°C).
