2. Recalculation preparation
When preparing the recalculation, a number of options need to be exercised, generally on the basis of reasoned assessments. The most common options are described below.
Structural analysis can be carried out using "strength of materials" methods or numerical methods (finite element analysis). In most cases, however, global models are linear elastic.
Note: the assessment of concrete creep under prestressing is, of course, the subject of special treatment.
For the calculation to be representative, account must be taken of the actual geometry of the structure, the actual construction process and, where applicable, the weakening of the constituent materials....
