8. Conclusion

A conceptual practice that was once less noble than new construction, rehabilitation has earned its letters of nobility and is now a construction discipline in its own right, where steel is generally very present.

Written in a practical spirit, this article shows the variety of its applications in building rehabilitation. It extensively describes how the material can be used to repair and consolidate structures, as well as to add new volumes inside, on top of or as extensions to existing structures.
