5. Reinforcing beams and floors

5.1 Reinforced concrete beams and floors

Reinforcing reinforced concrete structures is necessary when design or execution errors need to be corrected (calculations, embedding, concrete quality, etc.), but also in cases of reinforcement degradation (corrosion, fire) or increased loads to be balanced. Reinforcements are also needed to pierce trenches and interrupt load-bearing elements. Steel is very effective for reinforcing reinforced concrete floors, as it is easy to install.

The techniques presented here summarize some of the possible interventions. Moulding (figure 23 ) can be used to reinforce and, in the case of hoppers, hang the interrupted beam. Another solution...
