4. Smoke extraction (item W 9)
§ 1 The establishments concerned are class 1 for the purposes of determining the coefficient as defined in the appendix to Technical Instruction no. 246
§ 2 Special-risk premises referred to in article W 4 (§ 2.2) with a volume greater than 1,000 m3 must be smoke-free.
§ 3 Smoke control devices do not have to be automatic.
The Automatic Fire Detection (AFD) system must detect and report any outbreak of fire as quickly as possible, and activate any associated safety equipment.
