A recent study showed that in 2000 the percentage of various lightweight aggregates was distributed as follows, according to the cubage of concrete manufactured:

• foam concrete ;

• expanded clay and shale ;

• pumice ;

• perlite ;

• vermiculite ;

• expanded glass.
