1. Martensitic steels
Martensitic steels are metal alloys characterized by a chromium content ranging from 12% to 18% and carbon levels oscillating between 0.1% and 1.5%. These steels undergo hardening by quenching, giving rise to a martensitic microstructure when quenched. In the annealed condition, they have a pearlitic structure. Nickel can also be added to improve certain mechanical properties.
