VEP (external glazing) is an infill with a glazing bead cut at 45° at the ends, so that it rotates around the glazing to give the effect of a frame. This effect is generally enhanced by a hollow joint (in black – figure 10 ). Given that the infills (and glazing) are mounted from the outside, they can also be easily dismantled (simply unseal), so there is an obvious risk of intrusion. To avoid this, it's essential to install an anti-removal system (required by the DTU). There are several such systems, some of them very simple but patented. They can be an invisible screw, a wedge under the glazing joint...).
