5. Architectural concrete
Architectural concrete can be poured directly on site (figure

), with the constraint of producing the desired facings and finishes on site.
To facilitate installation, or to achieve special finishes, it is often judicious or necessary to use factory prefabricated elements, delivered finished to the site. These may or may not have a load-bearing function (figures
21
and
24
). The latter solution is widely used today...
