Cold formed light gauge purlins – Behaviour and design

Thin purlins are generally designed as continuous beams, which mechanically reduces span moments and deflections. Depending on the number of spans, it's important to take into account the increased load drop at adjacent edge supports.

Given the lengths of the buildings and the considerations involved in transport or handling/lifting operations, it is necessary to use joints that ensure this continuity.

The continuity of cold-formed purlins is adapted to their particular shape, Z, C or Sigma.
