Industrial steel buildings: role and functioning of their secondary components

To properly design a structure, it is first necessary to correctly identify and quantify all the actions it must balance. Most industrial structures of the type shown in figure 2 are essentially subject to climatic actions: wind, snow and temperature variations and, of course, permanent loads due to the dead weight of the constituent parts. Except in special cases, they are not subject to operating loads (although care must be taken not to forget maintenance loads, which are generally very low and are not dealt with here).
