In a similar way to what was presented in the previous chapter on lighting management, the IFC standard contains an "HVAC domain" (Heating, Ventilation & Air-Conditioning, HVAC) that defines specific object models for describing heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems.

In particular, this domain contains :

• flow controllers":

  • air diffuser (IfcAirTerminalBox),

  • damper (IfcDamper),

  • flowmeter (IfcFlowMeter),

  • valve (IfcValve) ;

• Fluid terminal elements":

  • air inlet or outlet (IfcAirTerminal),

  • radiator (IfcSpaceHeater);
