5. Controls
Insulation testing is difficult and error-prone. There are currently no recognized methods, standards or norms.
Inspections can be carried out after the work has been completed, to check that the insulation has been properly installed, or during the life of the installation, to assess the condition and ageing of the insulation.
Control can be performed in two ways:
quality control, to check that the insulation system has been properly installed;
a quantitative check, to verify the thermal objectives of the insulation.
