Industrial steel buildings: role and functioning of their main components

Stability bearings are the last means of transmitting horizontal forces to the structure before they reach the foundations. Their main purpose is to balance the support reactions of the beams to the wind, which, as we've just seen, are transmitted by the sand purlins or by specific struts.

Figure 33 shows the zones of influence of a stability bearing when there is only one per long span. These are the $1$ and $2$ zones corresponding to the upper half of the gables. In fact, the forces of the lower part are balanced by the foundations of the posts and those of the side porticos...
