Cement mortar seals

Traditionally, cement mortars were used to seal metal parts in concrete or stone, and still are today. In such cases, it is imperative to choose a cement that is very slightly expansive during hardening, to avoid any loosening due to shrinkage.

Cement suppliers list their expansive cements for grouting, such as Vicat cement.

Features :

• It is recommended to add approximately 5% of a styrene-butadiene or vinyl emulsion to the mortar to improve adhesion to concrete and metal parts;

• The mortar must have a thick, non-flowing consistency so that it does not run or creep in vertical sections;
