Air inlets for intercommunication devices have their upper edge no more than 1 m above the floor.
Smoke extraction outlets on intercommunication devices have their bottom part at least 1.80 m above the floor and are located entirely in the upper third of the device.
The air supply and smoke extraction vents of intercommunication devices are fitted with flame-retardant shutters rated at 1 h or E 60, closed in the standby position.
The air supply and smoke extraction flow rates in intercommunication devices are at least 0.20 m3/s/m2. As intercommunication devices must always be overpressurized in relation to the common horizontal circulation, the air supply flow rate is slightly higher than the smoke extraction flow rate.
