After having presented the various deterioration risks of sanitation networks, this article goes on to explain the encountered pathologies. Following, the diagnostic method for networks is detailed, as well as the various auscultation techniques used by professionals. In addition, the reader is provided with an overview of maintenance methods and rehabilitation, renovation and renewal techniques of sanitation networks and ancillary works. Methods for site monitoring are presented in a specific chapter. This article thus provides all the tools in order to implement a true patrimonial management of networks.

INTRODUCTION
Sewer network maintenance consists of three main categories of tasks:
unclogging and hydrodynamic cleaning of pipes;
pumping of downspouts and storm water basins;
cleaning of sewage treatment plants, lift stations and grease traps.
For network inspection and diagnostics, specialists use mobile television equipment to check the condition of pipes. Anomalies are detected and located using a range of cutting-edge equipment and processes: push cameras equipped with laser or sonar systems, motorized video tanks or directional robots...
Finally, network rehabilitation can be carried out using trenchless techniques, or by opening trenches and laying a new pipe. This article looks in detail at these various options.
